Muslims are definitely lucky to have been blessed by a source that promises to provide the best of guidance one cares for, in order to make the best of both worlds, i.e. this world and the world hereafter, which is one of the primary elements of faith for Muslims.

Now, the question is how do we  come to know whether what Muslims claim to be the best source of guidance and blessings is really worth so. Well, one should no more of an authentication once Allah Almighty, the sole creator of the universe Himself tells humanity about such a source, as mentioned in the following verse from Holy Quran.

Yunus [10:57].  O mankind! There has come to you a good advice from your Lord (i.e. the Qur’an, enjoining all that is good and forbidding all that is evil), and a healing for that (disease of ignorance, doubt, hypocrisy and differences,) Which is in your breasts, – a guidance and a mercy (explaining lawful and unlawful things) for the believers.

That is why Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) signified so greatly to Muslims to learn Quran themselves and teach it to others, so that all of them can be blessed by Allah’s graciousness:

“The best of you is he who has learnt the Qur’an and then taught it.” (Bukhari)

Duties that Make a Muslim a True and Good Muslim

Every person has some duties in life, if he is a father his duties is to look after for his children, a husband has duties to his wife, similarly a Muslim also has some duties, which are bestowed upon us by Allah Almighty.

A few of the duties, which every Muslim should comply to, are given as under:

A Good Human Being:

Besides religious duties, the foremost important duty, which Islam emphasis on is, being a good human being. A good human being is one who takes care of everyone around him, whether it be his friends, family, neighbors, or even animals. A person who is not a good human being cannot be a good Muslim.

Learning and Teaching Quran:

Allah has bestowed Quran upon Muslims, for their guidance, so it is the duty of a Muslim to learn and understand the message of Quran, and spread it to others. As Hadith says:

“The best amongst you is the one who learns Quran and teaches it”

From the hadith we can see that, a good Muslim must learn as well as teach Quran.

Jahad bin Nafs:

Jahad bin Nafs, is a kind of jahad, which you do to fight with the temptations, and persuasions of Satan, to make yourself a better person. A good Muslim has a duty of fighting with Satan, and his temptations.

The five Pillars:

A most important religious duty of a good Muslim is to fulfill the five pillars of Islam, namely; Kalma, Namaz, Roza, Hajj, and Zakkah. No Muslim can be a true Muslim, unless he fulfills all these necessary pillars of Islam.

All in all, by following the above mentioned duties, a Muslim can become a true Muslim, and a good and productive part of society.

1.      Check your heart before you touch the Holy book. There are so many Muslims who ask the question many times that can we give the holy Quran to non-Muslim as a gift? The answer is yes but there are some confines that we must take care before doing this act of kindness.

As we all are aware as Muslims that the glorious Quran is the revelation from Allah almighty to Muhammad (p.b.u.h) to give the knowledge of Islam to all mankind. It demands respect so keep in mind that if you want to give Quran to non-believers, they must pay respect and be sure that they are seriously interested to learn the book of Allah. Be sure that they really want to know what exactly the meaning of Quran is and they are seriously concerned to know about Islam and Muslims.

If you are sure about all above mentioned points then it is permitted because it is the superb method to spread Islam and they can compare holy Quran to their own religious books. Insha’Allah they will defiantly fine the book of Allah greatest among all. It is better to give them a copy of translation of holy Quran because most of the non-Muslims do not understand Arabic. Tell them that you must purify yourself before touching this book as it is the holy book and guide them how to purify.

Teach them how to read and recite Quran correctly and if you think that the person whom you want to give Quran is tapered minded then it is strictly not allowed to gift them this holy book because they may harm or say some hard words for Quran and Islam. Charity Importance In Quran

Charity means love, universal benevolence or good will. There are so many verses in holy Quran that shows the importance of charity but in surah Baqarah, there are some most important aspects of Charity. Live Quran reading is one of the helping tools to find the aspects and importance of charity.

Þ     Charity For Own self:

Allah Almighty never rejects or neglect any good deed or anything that someone done in the way of Allah. If you did something good then surly you will get virtues and blessing from Allah Almighty as big reward. “Whatever good you shall forward on your behalf you shall find it with God, as better and richer in reward”. (Al-Muzzammil 73: 20)

Þ     Give charity of what you love:

Never feel fear or regret when you are going to give something lovely to any needy person because Allah gives reward on the basis of your Iman and deeds. Always try to give charity secretly and that too would be ignored. “You cannot attain to righteousness unless you spend (in charity) out of what you love.” (3:92)

Þ     Prefer Charity Then Usury(Riba):

Prefer charity then usury as the glorious book of Allah has strong take on usury. Charity is the act of kindness. It convinces other people to act this kindness. Usury is haram or forbidden in Islam. “O ye who believe! Fear God, and give up what remains of your demand for usury, if ye are indeed believers.”
(2:278- Al-Baqarah)

Þ     Prefer charity then debt(loan):

There is a Hadith narrated by Abu Musa Ashari: “After the major sins which must be avoided, the greatest sin is that someone dies in a state of debt and leaves behind no asset to pay it off”. (Darimi)

Quran reading is a very important act of worship for Muslims, it is a Holy book, and Allah sent this book for the guidance of human beings, Islam provides us with unlimited knowledge and education and the Quran is the central book of Islamic knowledge. Through Quran learning we can know the importance of education and realize the full significance of how much emphasis in laid in Islam upon the acquisition of knowledge.

Education is important for two reasons:

  1. It gives a person accurate intellectual tools so that, he will be able to think clearly and in the right direction. If one has no education, then one cannot think properly in a right way. Education prepares a person how to think and how to make a knowledgeable decision.
  2. The next reason is that, one can obtain information from the external world and convert it to useful knowledge only when one has education. A person without education is like a dark room, without light and fresh air, while an with education a person feels as if he is in a room with all its windows open towards outside world, with plenty of light and fresh air.

The knowledge one obtain from the Quran can make our present better and also life after death. Islam is different from other religions because of its special emphasis on achievement of knowledge and education. Education and knowledge are worthless if they do not renovate one’s personal life. No one can find the right path and direction in this world without the right education.
