Head of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Haifa in the year 2011, Israel presented the copy of Quran to the Pope Benedict XVI. The Amir of Ahmadiyya Community in Haifa Shareef Odeh is very much involved deeply in faith community of Israel. The presentation of Holy Quran in the long tradition of Islam dates back to time of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). Yunus [10:57].  O mankind! There has come to you a good advice from your Lord (i.e. the Qur’an, enjoining all that is good and forbidding all that is evil), and a healing for that (disease of ignorance, doubt, hypocrisy and differences,) Which is in your breasts, – a guidance and a mercy (explaining lawful and unlawful things) for the believers.

That is why Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) signified so greatly to Muslims to learn Quran themselves and teach it to others, so that all of them can be blessed by Allah’s graciousness:

“The best of you is he who has learnt the Qur’an and then taught it.” (Bukhari)

A few of the duties, which every Muslim should comply to, are given as under:

A Good Human Being:

Besides religious duties, the foremost important duty, which Islam emphasis on is, being a good human being. A good human being is one who takes care of everyone around him, whether it be his friends, family, neighbors, or even animals. A person who is not a good human being cannot be a good Muslim.

Learning and Teaching Quran:

“The best amongst you is the one who learns Quran and teaches it”

Jahad bin Nafs:

Jahad bin Nafs, is a kind of jahad, which you do to fight with the temptations, and persuasions of Satan, to make yourself a better person. A good Muslim has a duty of fighting with Satan, and his temptations.

The five Pillars:

A most important religious duty of a good Muslim is to fulfill the five pillars of Islam, namely; Kalma, Namaz, Roza, Hajj, and Zakkah. No Muslim can be a true Muslim, unless he fulfills all these necessary pillars of Islam.

All in all, by following the above mentioned duties, a Muslim can become a true Muslim, and a good and productive part of society.

“Behold! In the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the benefit of mankind; in the rain which Allah Sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth — (Here) indeed are Signs for a people that are wise.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:164)

This is just one example of the kind of information Allah Almighty has descended upon humans to heed to the right path as laid to them by their Lord, Allah Almighty.
