Researchers have recently found out that the obsession men develop during game-playing is evolutionary.
A study conducted at the University of Missouri exposed that the hormones generated in men while playing competitive video games duplicate the hormones seen in animals during reproductive and territorial challenges.

This study divided 42 men into two teams playing Unreal Tournament 2004 under two phases. Phase one was “out-group” in which the team members played Team Deathmatch in which group collaborated against a common enemy. Phase two was “in-group” in which all the players fought against each other and conquered on their own.
Examining the “out-group” results, men on the winning side had higher testosterone hormone than the ones on the losing end. The same is seen among animals. All animals may become aggressive, but the ones who win have a stronger testosterone flow.
Conversely, participants if the “in-group” phase who played on an individual basis against their own team members, displayed a low testosterone level. Surprising enough, the winning participants were recorded to have the lowest levels of testosterone. Comparing this to the animal instinct, we seldom see the males fighting against their own associates.
The research concluded with the outcome that men experience a similar reaction like male animals do when competing for mates or being defensive. ”It’s Natural to Play Video Games” says Darwin. So the next time your girl tries to stop you from playing video games, seduce her with how good you can make her feel in bed with an increased level of testosterone.
