Social media is helping internet marketing; is that true or not? One study Foresee Results reveal that social media is not that much influential in making a website popular at major search engines as well as among targeted customers. Results of the research cover almost 180 client sites, 40 social media sites, and more than 300,000 consumers. Alongside bad outcome, there is a positive aspect as almost 18% visitors have visited the sites after getting influenced by social media profiles.

Web based businesses are continuously increasing the social media budget to make their websites more popular among targeted customers. It doesn’t mean that more investment over social media will enhance the number of visitors in very short time; instead it involves the kind of activities that you are engaged in there.

Promotional emails also result in enhanced purchases and the rate is as high as 32% compared to social media boom. This has been making companies confused about decision whether to go for social media investment or not. It has been estimated that almost 74% companies want social media to be part of their overall marketing campaign and to drive traffic at their main website. Among 400 U.S. companies, almost 74% want social media optimization for website traffic, while 56% want it for enhanced sales.

What would be the other way that will help internet marketers to make their client’s business successful, if no option is left, and then business owners will surely think to go the social media way?
