Azaan And Salat

Calling for the prayers is called Azan. The time of Azaan is same for all it is not allowed that you give azan before the time of Salat; following are the salats that Muslims offer;

  • Five obligatory prayers these are
  1. Fajar
  2. Zuhar
  3. Asar
  4. Majhrib
  5. Isha
  • Jummah salat which is Sunnat-e-Mu’akadah. A sunnat that is essential. If the azzan for jumah is not given all the people of a particular area are held responsible for it and are considered sinners.
  • Muslims also say prayers on the two eids i.e. :
  1. Eid ul fitr
  2. Eid ul azha

There is no azan for the prayers of eid. And Muslims have to walk to the Masjid to pray.

  • Witr
  • Janazah Salaah
  • Nafil Salaah are a voluntary action of the muslims to offer prayersin order to get the salvation of Allah

There are certain restrictions of saying Azaan. These are as follow:

  • Wudhu has to be done before saying prayers and azaan. Otherwise Azaan cannot be given.
  • It is not allowed that you talk during Azaan even if he is reading Quran he should stop.
  • Women cannot say azan. This act is known as Makrooh-e-Tahreemi.
  • The times of Azans and namaz are same. Giving Azaan before time is not permissible.
  • Intoxicated person is not allowed to say azan.
  • Insane person cannot give azan so a person should be in his senses to say azan.
  • Azaan has to be given facing towards Qibla, and not by facing everywhere he wants to.
  • The moazzin needs to pause after every time he says takbeer.
  • The Azaan must be given outside the Musjid
  • Giving azan during the kutba of jummah is not permissible.
  • It is necessary that every one hearing azan should answer it.
