In Islam, God Almighty is the ultimate source of knowledge and the Holy Quran is the primary sourceof religious learning. The Revelation of Holy Quran upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)commenced with these words from the Gracious God:
“Read: In the name of thy Lord who created man from a clot. Read: And they Lord is the Most GenerousWho taught by the pen, Taught man that which he knew not.” Surah Al-Alaq, 96:1-5
Further, elaborated more directly as stated:
Al-Baqara [2:121] Those to whom We have sent the book! study it as it should be studied; they are theones that believe therein; those who reject faith therein the loss is their own.
Thus Quran teaching and learning are amongst the most encouraged of acts in Islamic way of living. HolyProphet (PBUH) himself was the greatest teacher of all and encouraged those involved in Quran teachingand learning. In fact, there was a group of Sahaba (RA) by the name of “Ashab e Suffah” who were solelydedicated to the purpose of learning and teaching Quran basically, followed by other Islamic preaching.
God Almighty enlightens us by his Glorious words about the Holy Quran as:
Al-Araf [7:2] A book revealed unto thee― so let thy heart be oppressed no more by any difficulty on thataccount that with it thou mightest warn (the erring) and teach the Believers.
This is how important learning and teaching Quran to Allah is, so, as true obedient and thankful souls, weshall not only focus on learning Quran, but shall deem teaching Quran as importantly.
