Do you think you should enter Paradise unless God establishes who among you have struggled hard and who are patient? (Al-Imran 3:142)

There are various definitions of the word sacrifice in Islam defined by Quran and Sunnah. Muslims are often questioned on the hardships they face on the path of Allah. One of the main questions is that when Allah loves a human being why he would let a man go through hardships. This takes us o the philosophy of life. Some of the people follow the path of satin saying”we want to enjoy our lives” which means that the directly or indirectly they don’t believe in the world here after.

Frequently I am questioned that “does a person necessarily have to go through hardships to reach the level of a true Muslim?” Well the answer is that it’s not true. The division of blessings of Allah seems to be unequal. Some are tested by an increase in the blessings and others are tested by a decrease in the blessings. So all that matters is how you face the test.

Confession of faith is not enough min Islam. Faith does not have one dimension. The people who have a strong faith go to the extreme of giving their lives away. These people go through the most difficult test and they don’t fear it. Thus Allah uplifts the souls of the people who sacrifice on the path of Allah.

“Those who strive hard in Our way – surely We shall guide them onto Our paths” (al-Ankabut 29:68).
